Just got a look at the Nighster. It looks like it was put together in the back of a junk yard. Plain butt ugly! Would you place $10,000 on the counter to buy one of these? If so, why? It looks like an old used bike out of the crate.

i ride a 1200 roadster. this 1 has the same engine i have, but the biggest difference this bike has to mine is........the seat is 4" lower. seat height on mine with the sundowner is 29". those who have never ridden a sportster is in for a surprize when they hop on. these bikes do have a bunch of respectable torque...plenty of torque to keep a new rider happy for quite some time actually, i should know....i've had my roadster for over 2 years now, and i wouldnt 'trade up' even if u were to give it to me.

bikes like these are ment to be ridden. compared to the big touring bikes; road kings, e-glides, ultra classics, and the metric cruisers.....this sporty will be still fit to cruise while the big twins are in a gas station doing a refill. by the way....beauty is in the eye of the beholder. some would consider the old 60's chops to have alot more beauty than any bike on the road today...while other's would say they should be retired to the junk yard. i'd buy this bike if the roadster was too tall in the saddle for me. sportsters are generally a no-frills, what u see is what u get type of bike.

1st, it's a "Bobber", rather than a chopper or cruiser. If you have to ask what that is...You wouldn't understand. I like it for it's simplicity and overall usefulness. No frills, big tourquey engine, low seat height (women riders should love it) and not really a fashion accessory as so many have become. Is it a sport or touring bike ...not by today's standards. However it is still much faster than most really need, will handle acceptably, and should require little maintenance. It's resale value will blow the doors off any Asian or English bike and will actually appreciate if it doesn't catch on. If you don't think so, look at the XR1000's or XLCR's of year's past. Sales failures that are worth far more now than when new. RIDE THAT INVESTMENT! Don't buy one if you don't like it, but I personally think this was long overdue.

I personally wouldn't buy a Sportster, I prefer touring bikes. I think they look kind of cool though. Then again, I don't have the pathological, irrational hatred of all things Harley that some people on YA have.

NOT ME!
If I had that kind of coin, I'd build myself a radical new rigid-frame full-chop that would put Orange Cunty Chumpers' junk to SHAME.
I've been riding the same rad '63 Panhead longer than most of these wannabe posers have even been ALIVE, and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING that's come out of Milwaukee in the last 20 ears!

Is someone trying to force you to buy it?
If you don't like it, don't look at it.

Like Florida boy said ,Harleys are just a fad ( A 105 year fad) they're sure to go away any day now.

In my opinion all harleys are not exactly easy on the eyes... With the exception of the V-Rod which is actually pretty cool.

hd didnt build this bike specifically for u. they built it for riders that isnt tall enough to flatfoot a standard 1200 because the seat is too high for them. go back to yer candy a-ss piece of plastic junk rice rocket cause its obvious u cant handle a sportster.

I must say I agree with you, it is like it was built from used parts and accessories from the local junk yard, it is one ugly bike, and no, I wouldn't spend a dollar on something that looks like it does. sad that it has classified itself as a Harley Davidson.,. so sad!
