Sedimentary rocks are composed of sediments that have been deposited and consolidated.

Metamorphic rocks are created by exposing sedimentary or ingneous rocks to intense heat and pressure.

Igneous rocks are the result of earths material being melted and then cooling.

That is as basic as it gets and can get a lot more complex.

sedimentary: those are rocks made up of sand, plant matter, fossil's it is soft rock

Metamorphic: rock cooled lava with various size crystals in it and it is very compressed and hard

Igneous: is a rock made of many minerals
