Obviously, if they both come out, the decision will be between Oden and Durant. The two times who are most likely to have the first pick, have thier specific needs. If the Celtics get the first pick, they should probably go with Durant. As Pierce wants out, it looks as if they won't have any premier scorers on their team. The already have two players similar to Oden (but not as talented, smaller, and not quite as good of a shot-blockers) in Al Jefferson and Theo Ratliff. If Memphis gets the first pick, they should grab Oden. Oden has a much better potential to be a better rebounder and shot-blocker, which they don't have on their current team. They DEFINATELY need help on the glass, as they are dead last in the league in that category, which has caused a lot of their problems. In addition, they already have a player similar to Kevin Durant in Pau Gasol. I know Gasol doesn't have the range, but he is a guy, like Durant, who can go inside or the 15- to 20-foot range. Of course, there is the possibility that neither of them leave, in which situation the next-best pick would have to be Joakim Noah. Of the other teams in the lottery range New York should pick Durant, Philly should pick Durant, Milwaukee should pick Oden, Orlando should pick Oden (that would be a scary frontcourt with Howard and Oden), Charlotte should pick Oden, Atlanta could use either player, Denver should trade down to avoid too many scorers, Minnesota should pick Oden (another scary frontcourt Garnett and Oden), Portland should pick Durant, Seattle should pick Oden, the Clippers should pick Oden (Brand and Oden are almost as scary as the other frontcourts), Sacramento should pick Durant, Golden State should pick Oden, and New Orleans should pick Durant. Bottom line, it all depends on each team's individual pick.

Well right now we don't positively know who's going to apply for the NBA draft. But it would basically come down to Kevin Durant or Greg Oden. Depending on the team's needs, Greg Oden is perfect for the team who needs a low-post defender. Oden looks to me like a future David Robinson or Dikembe Mutombo type of player. Kevin Durant is perfect for the team that needs a young offensive player to build around. Durant to me is definitely similar to KG, young, skinny, yet so talented for a big man. Both have great potential, but it all depends on the team's needs.

Oden, because he is only a freshman, he is young and has so much potential. 7'0, great looking shot, played most of the season left handed because of a wrist injury. I think with a little more training, a few more pounds and he could be the next Tim Duncan. There are just so few great centers in the league, and more than likely a team that will get the number 1 pick will need a center. I am hoping it's the Celtics, because I really believe that they can work with him and once he matures a couple years in he will be dominant.

Oden is who I would take. How many quality centers enter the draft one? Not many. Two, you always build your team around your big man or center. Three, he may look older than dirt but he is a young man that has a long solid career ahead of him. Four, a player that has a long solid career always betters the team in some shape or form. Five with him being so young he has tons of room for improvement. Six I've seen him play in person in HS and in college in Indy (very impressive). And the seventh deadly sin is that his confidence will grow with his skill making him a big man that you wouldn't want to play on your side. Need I go on.

depends on the teams drafting and what their needs are. you can't really take the best available player if your team is really bad, that philosophy works better fro at least average teams... but it should be oden.no one has the size skill combination he has. in the pros, durant is like dozens of other players, but not oden...

Hands down - Kevin Durant. Have you seen him play? The guy is money. He isn't your typical big man either. He has range to his shot.

I love Durant. Noah is extremely talented. But you build around the big man. Always. Take Odin. You'll probably still suck next year. Then take Mayo.
