basic state issues are tried in state court, federal issues will be tried in federal court, though a state issue can be tried in federal court if one party is resides in another state

but state issues: education, family law issues, traffic enforcement, some criminal matters, contract disputes, property disputes, landlord/tenant issues etc

Cases tried in state court? OK. A traffic summons (a speeding ticket) would be tried in a state court; also , a civil case between citizens of the same state for contract or tort.

(I assume you are referring to the differences between cases that are tried in state court, as opposed to federal courts. )
