it's on the edge of the coin.

I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, I think that it would be just a governmental diversion to distract the public from really important matters... Yeah, let's change the coin, start a controversy over God and Country (anyway I doubt We'll ever see this change in coin under a Republican-Bush presidency, but anyway), and make them forget about any importan problem or scandal...

I'm a Catholic and I think that a: people shouldn't make such a big deal out of it, it's just a coin, just a phrase, and b: it doesn't matter if it is or isn't there. God is not defined by cold, hard money that promotes greed. But... we have bigger issues to worry about besides phrases on coins.
And we can say whatever we want, church and state aren't as separate as our government likes us to think sometimes.

Yes the coin does not have inscribed on it "In God We Trust". It is another way of leaving God out. Controlling, denying, erasing our heritage! The feeling is that this is just another way of removing all vestiges of God from our heritage until He is completely eliminated. If the coin is accepted, there may be a move to get rid of the paper dollar which does display "In God We Trust" on it. Many are asking that if one gets one of these to turn them back to your bank for a paper dollar.

YES!!! Finally people realize that the phrase is not necessary and a little demeaning to the Christian God. It wasn't originally on there in the first place and doesn't belong there. In this nation there is a separation of Church and State, therefore since money is from the State it should not have the Church's God on it.

If they really had left it off, it would have been a pleasant change.
Why should you have to look at money to be reminded of your God? I look at flowers, animals, and anything in nature to remind myself that everything is a part of God/Goddess. Why is it so hard for Christians? And...why money?

Does anyone bother to research these things before getting their panties in a bunch over something that's just completely *wrong*?
"Many are asking that if one gets one of these to turn them back to your bank for a paper dollar."
There's a name for these people. "Retards."
(ps - Jesus didn't pat the moneylenders on the head and say "Good job!")

Perhaps God has turned quite untrustworthy lately.
