My 4 month old has been showing signs of teething since 3 months. You can even see the two bottom teeth under her gums. This last weekend she has become very irrtiable, and is nawing on everything. I've been rubbing baby teething gel on her gums which seems to relieve her somewhat. How long does it usually take for the teeth to push through?

How long is a piece of string?

Babies teeth can already be starting through at new born, it can take a year or more before they start sometimes....

Im sure within the next few days, especially as they are biting down, the points will come through...

Mine started showing around 2-3 months, one didn't have his first until 7 months and the other didn't get his first until about 10 months. Within weeks he had 5 though. Wet a washrag and then fold it and put it in the freezer. It's hard and cold and they love it! They won't hurt their gums since it's just frozen water. Orajel (or the like) work okay, it didn't work at all with my neice. Every baby is different though so don't get upset if yours isn't doing the same things.

My son would have one tooth come in in a few days and others were months. It all depends but I would say with the kids I babysit for, average is about a month of breaking through and going back etc. It's tough, Oragel really helps and of course Tylonol in moderation. GOOD LUCK and watch for fevers!!

it took my son about a month once I could see the tooth. Then he got 1 tooth, two weeks later he got 3.
