I'm dead against it. The British government donate billions of pounds to an unelected bunch of un-democratic wasters that are taking more and more control of our regulations, policies and political independence.
Most European citizens are against the EU, but are ignored. The only nations that are for the EU are the poor nations that pay in peanuts and get back billions from the international money pot.
A democracy should elect the people that govern the nation’s policies. The EU is an anti-nationalist, anti-democratic, unaccountable, unpopular, unproductive, unwanted, autocratic disaster.
Get rid of it, I say!!!

Pray tell how is the EU screwing over the UK? Is it from a massive single market of some of the richest countries in the world? Is it from a project that has united a continent that has been at war with itself for centuries? Is it from the EU championing Human Rights, Workers Rights, the fight against discrimination, protection of cultural identities?
They surveyed the UK on knowledge of the EU, it was incredibly low. I have seen plenty of questions on here and articles in the media saying how much the EU sucks up how it is taking away sovereignty. Yet hardly any media, newspaper, news channel, magazines, etc ever explain what the EU does, what the processes are, how they go about serving the citizens of the member states.
I am from Ireland; we are some of the most informed citizens in respect to the EU. We have greatly benefited from membership both economically and socially. For all of Europe there is a supranational organisation that citizens can use if our government fails us.
If a citizen of one country moves to another, we are treated as if we were the citizen of that country. The same applies if you were in a country where the UK didn’t have an embassy, you can use an embassy from another member state.
I wonder where those payment statistics come from saying it costs people £845 each. According to the foreign office and Treasury it costs about £4.5 billion a year, so £75 per person in the UK. The benefits well exceed that due to trade with the other nations, as well as grants, agricultural subsidies. There is also benefits such as combined security and another answerer pointed out it is the strongest voice in the WTO.
Arguments about accountability can be made against your House of Lords, since they are not elected. The European Parlament is elected by the peoples of europe, the UK included. The Commission is similar to the cabinet of a country's government but with a lot less power, every important issue is dealt with at European Council stage where the heads of each government decide what is to be done. Also individual parlaments have a lot of power.
There are things wrong with the EU, but to cut and run is cowardly and is not helpful in the 21st century. Enlargement will stop now for a few years, the next entrant will likely be Croatia, and that will be well into the next decade. We now have this period to see the new members starting to grow and with them their developing markets.

The blogbaba is one of the few who believe the EU is in fact at war with the United States. The attack on the U.S. is similar to the manner in which the EU conquered Europe, with $$$$ instead of bullets. The EU for well over the past decade have been systematically been buying the industrial economic base of the United States. You see the result of the tactic in the massive job loss and current mass exodus of companies to lower wage markets leaving the United States for cheaper labor areas.
Sun Tsu said "all warfare is based on economics" and the EU is better at it than most. The failure of the Federal Government, (both Republican and Democrat) to protect the economic market fo the United States with tariffs resulted in exactly what Ross Periot warned would happen, the loss of the American industrial base. A modern country cannot equip its military or support its population without an industrial base.
For all intents and purposes the EU took Europe without the mess Hitler caused by using $$$$ instead of bullets, and they are doing the same to the U.S. The EU is actually an arm of the WTO, as is the AU (African Union), and it appears the U.S., Canada & Mexico are destined to become the NAU. Such is the new world order Herbert Walker mentioned. Without a Federal Government who represents and governs its population, the United States is doomed. Currently our elected leadership, (Rep & Dem) represent corporate interests instead of our people. Hopefully they are just blinded by greed and not as stupid as they appear.

I am very concerned I am British and what to be British > The imigration problem will soon make the working class have to settle for less pay and the house prices due to over population are having a serious affect again on the working class. I think unless there is something done the BNP or other extremists parties will get the vote we need to gain control it is a disgrace to the lads who died in ww 2 the way we are being invaded due to the EU

I could give a long answer to this question with many examples. They have been well rehearsed before, however. The short answer, is that it will take away British sovereignty, never to be returned, and effectively, remove Britain as a nation state. This Government have been trying to arrive at that position anyway, incrementally, and by stealth. It is made worse by the fact that the EU is left wing and totalitarian to the extent that it will never allow any opposition to its ideaology. It even ignores national referenda by countries who have voted to stay out.
It has to represent the ultimate act of treason, and, I would have thought, contrary to our constitution, because politicians are not elected to hand power over to a foreign entity.

I think we could cope very well on our own, we made a pretty good job of it before joining the EU. Very soon we will be handing over our wage packets to Tony and the EU and they will dole out our food and clothes and we will have to be very grateful or else! We need our Independence back from these liars and cheats. When will the EU audit be signed off I suspect, never. When will the British Public have a voice that's listened to.GIVE US BACK OUR FREEDOM.

We put far more money into Europe than we get out of Europe, then when you see some new building or centre which has been funded by European Grants, everyone says great Europe works and gives us free stuff. But in reality we put far more into than we get out.
To have a different opinion and to voice it is not prejudice Mojo.

maggi thatcher said she wanted a service nation, so our mastership of our own land was sabotaged, eg europe owns most of the car industry, we buy them and fix them when they break down, europe reaps the proffit all we do is fix them when they go wrong, to bring this about the gov had to sabotage our ability to make our own, this i believe was done by right and left wing working together, the left wing created the strikes through the union, the right wing accused the blamed the working class then destroyed our manufactoring base. the unions are now pro european, sitting pretty with the rest of the british traitors, to vote for any of the big three is collaborating with the enemies of britain.
for the pupose of the total surrender of britain as a colonised state.

By ordering all EU countries to build travellers camps for Romanian gypsies. Hastings has been designated as one possible site. This could be a modern Battle of Hastings.
