I drive a 2000 Chevy S10, manual transmission. Lately, everytime I start it up, there is a clicking sound for about 3 seconds and then the same sound when it's time to shift. Any ideas on what it would be? I'm hoping it's not a cracked engine!! Help!

Sounds like valve lifter noise. Check the oil level and condition. Change the oil and filter and add a quart of additive for worn engines. It may work to solve your problem.
