I think the best site for movie news, and reviews of movies done by people who aren't industry insiders is www.imdb.com but on a regular basis, I check out http://www.salon.com/ which reviews some movies (usually from a political standpoint which I may or may not agree with) and the reviews in Rolling Stone are also generally well-written.

I'm guessing by mainstream you mean news papers, Rotten Tomatoes, The Hollywood Reporter and Hollywood.com.
