I think the Drs had their date right. She would be much bigger if she was over due. What would make you think such a thing?

I would trust your doc's EDD and conception, while not an exact, is an estimate. But I can tell you that after 41 weeks your placenta doesn't work as effectively to transport nutrients, and I have never heard of a gestation period lasting 44 weeks. Keep in mind that EDD are given typically 40 weeks out from last menses, which is 10 months basically. Not the 9 months most of us believe it to be.( Much to my disappointment!) Also, it is normal for her to be covered in vernix- I think you can trust she was born on time.

anythings possible everything is just the best statistical guidelines. basic pregnancies are 40 weeks but of course that is not always the case and the drs werent there when the baby was conceived so they go by the best way possibly to come up with a time frame which is important in making sure that you get your shots and blood drawn at ballpark times during the pregnancy. she sounds healthy so dont waste time wondering when she was actually made, does it really matter at this point?

A term pregnancy is considered to be between 38 and 42 weeks.
I think she was probably right on time if she was a month early she would much smaller and Probably in the hospital right now
do to the fact that a baby doubles it's weight in the last month.

it's possible but not likely. I was born almost a month over due, but that was twenty years ago in very small village in Germany, where they didn't really do inductions. Now it is very unlikely a doctor will let you go over 42 weeks. And if she still had vernix it is very unlikely she was very late, I had none left when I was born and the amniotic fluid was hurting my skin. Sounds like she was on time to me.

I'vce had 4 babies, all 4 were born at 43 weeks and had to be induced, cos they showed know signs of making an entrance unaided. Most people are saying doctors wo'nt leave you after 42 weeks, but I was, they booked me in to be induced at 43 weeks .

After about 42 weeks of pregnancy the placenta starts to break down to a dangerous level and can no longer support the pregnancy. If you had gone 4 weeks over your due date, your baby wouldn't have survived.

Did you have an ultrasound late in your pregnancy? Ultrasounds are more accurate with the due date when you have one as early as possible; they get less accurate further along in the pregnancy. My guess is your baby was on time. If shes happy and healthy I wouldnt worry about it.

The scans are usually quite accurate, they only let you go up to two weeks over because of health risks. Mine were 8 and 9 lb, and both two weeks early. I am sure they are right she is just prob gonna be tall.

Generally, it is only safe to carry a child up to 42 weeks after that it can be dangerous for both you and the baby. My guess is she was on-time!
