If you are having irregular ovulations, or not ovulating at all, you are probably going to have a hard time conceiving. A really good way to find out if you are ovulating and menstruating normally, is to chart it out! There is a fabulous book that teaches you to chart out your cycles by measuring your morning temps, cervical fluid consistency, and cervix position, and all it takes is like 2 minutes a day! The information will tell you when and if you are ovulating, and if you did get pregnant you'd probably know before a pregnancy test would show you results. Anywho, the book is called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler and I very much recommend the 10th anniversary edition with color photos. You can also do a lot of diagnosis that will help your doctor, and you can sometimes avoid some nasty tests. The book has been used by several of my friends to get pregnant and is a super easy read.

Are your periods always this irregular?
If they are, you will have to buy ovulation tests. They might be expensive though so if you don't want to pay that, just have sex every other day. You are sure to conceive sooner or later as long as there aren't any fertility problems.
Good luck.

There are about a dozen problems that can cause irregular periods. PCOS is one of them. I would go to a Dr. as soon as possible and get all the hormonal tests. Dont let him put you on Birth Control to regulate your periods cause its just a temporary fix. Good luck.

If your period is irregular it is going to be hard to get pregnant. It will be hard to predict ovulation. Seek out a Dr.
