I put my son's pacifier in the sterilizer with his bottles and the breast pump.
Most baby gadgets have instructions on them as to what they recommend for sterilization. In most cases the simplest and cheapest way is boiling for 2-5 minutes, depending on the instructions if there is any on the box. Also, washing it in hot water with a little soap works too. But make sure you wash the soap off thoroughly.

The boiling suggestions are all good.

However, from a convenience perspective my wife and I found that the Avent microwave oven sterilizer (plastic, 3-piece device) was great for sterilizing pacifiers, bottles, and other products that find their way into baby's mouth. It holds 4-8 bottles depending on size, plus the nipples, pacifiers, and anything else. If I recall correctly, roughly 3 min in the microwave and then you let it sit and youre done. Quick and easy.

If you are looking for a quick way to clean pacifiers while you are on the go try the following ideas:

Fill a small spray bottle with bottled water and add a few drops of mouthwash. When the pacifier drops on the ground or just needs a quick cleaining, just give it a few sprays. For $6 -7, you can buy a pacifier rinser that does the same thing (http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=432&cmSource=Search)

You can also dip the pacifier in a mix (50/50) of vinegar and water. You don't have to, but I like to rinse it with water. The smell is strong, but it is a a perfectly safe way to sterilize anything for your baby (including clothes - just throw a cup of vinegar in with your laundry - http://frugalliving.about.com/cs/tips/a/blvinlaundry.htm)

For a more thorough cleaning, place the pacifiers in boiling water for a few minutes. You can also wash them in the dishwasher using a basket on the top rack.

here are the stages that you will go through:
1. first child- you deep it in alcohol but then, you want to wash it so the child will not get drunk so you go and boiled water and wash the pacifier... but then you think maybe some x-ray will really kill all the germs so you drive to the hospital at 2am in the morning and ask them to nuke your baby's pacifier.
2. second child: you pick the pacifier from the floor, wash it with some water, clean it with a towel.
3. third child: you just came back from your basketball game, you wipe the pacifier with your sweaty T-shirt

Although this may not seem the best answer my relatives(the moms) do a quick suck off. They believe that babies have the same germs as thier mommys and wont get sick. I however wouldnt use Listerine if you can purchase one of those bottle sanitizers or if they are in yer area there are pacifier sanitizers.

You don't. Good grief, I've had seven babies (my youngest is 10 months) and I have never bothered with sterilizing pacifiers. Our world is entiredly too germaphobic.

I used to boil my sons binkys with his bottles and nipples. Then when he was threw with it, I often put it in a container you can find at most retailers that is made for keeping the binky safe and sterile.

Boil them for about 5 minutes. Don't boil them for much longer or they will turn yellow. Also make sure you wait about 5-10 minutes after boiling them before you give them to your child. I boiled my son's once and a couple minutes later he wanted it and without thinking I gave it to him and it was still hot. I felt so bad.
