I think you could put some small bells or something that would make noise. That should scare them away from it.

Well, a ton of people come into our road stand and ask the same thing. Many people have suggested using hot peppers on the leaves. Cut 'em open and smear the "hotness" onto a good amount of the bushes. The thing I have found that works best, however, is dried blood products. They are sold at almost all gardening stores. Try whichever suits you. Otherwise six shot is your best bet.

i use black pepper. it won't hurt them, just keeps them away
