How about Siesta Key... It is near Sarasota, Florida. Absolutely beautiful. They are known for their white sand beaches. The sand is absolutely gorgeous.

I have a family home in Venice, Florida. We love to drive over to Siesta Key to go to the beach. There area also many fun attractions around the area. Mote Marine is amazing. The Ringling Museum is not to far and a great time. Or you can simply relax at the beach and frequent many of the fantastic restaurants within walking distance.
I hope this helped and I hope you have a wonderful time.

I'm particular to St. Pete Beach, but Daytona is also fun. Note that with Daytona, however, that hotel room prices skyrocket in February and July. Low season (during non-holiday, school-day times) tend to give the best deals.
