Of course you would provide a link from the anti-american BBC. I love the British and respect their views, but the BBC is ridicoulus sometimes, they should try to be more objective.

Russia has gone through so much the last 20 years. Putin has brought a sense of patriotism, and, pride, back to the Russians, at, the terrible expense of end runs around democracy and a free press. Russia, in the 10 years of SEVERE economic depression, had a free press, and much was reported on its horrible past in this century, and, the plight of the people. Much has improved, economically, the last 5 years in Russia, with a long way to go, of course. Russia is used to thinking of itself as a great powerful nation. But has been greatly diminished. If Putin, or a Putin named successor next year, tries to re-gain the pride of old, it just might attempt to rejoin in the global arms trade and arms race as in years past. Lets hope greater minds prevail.

Like people around the world, I'm more concerned about the US threat to security and not Russia. Half the people feel we play a negative role in world affairs.

I'm a bit more concerned about world security when Republicans take over the government of the United States.

The Russians have been trying to regain their power since they lost it. Yes, they will try the same stuff again, just a bit more clandestinely this time. At first, anyway.
