It is not just his reluctance to go. A lot of other things are hurting the Labour party.
Cash for honours.
The cover up.
All the bad ministers he refused to sack and had to go anyway.
The extreme tax rises.
The stealth taxes.
Allowing councils to fine people much larger amounts than a criminal would be fined!!!
Road pricing.
All the problems with the Health service closing wards, delaying operations and sacking staff.
Using the lottery funds for government issues.
We won't know how rotten this government has been until after they leave office but I am sure the truth will be a major shock even though we can smell the stench already!

No, it was all a plot right from the outset to destroy what was the Labour Party. The Unions were all but destroyed by Thatcher and the anti union laws that she imposed, there was only the Labour Party in the way so along came Blair and his supporters and there it was gone.
If "New Labour" lose the next election which could be in May 2010 or even in three months if the Diana Gate, Kelly Gate or Peer Gate bubbles burst, big business will automatically switch their allegiance to the party that wins power.
It happened in Germany in 1933 and there is absolutely nothing to stop it happening here.

No. I undergo in suggestions the mess the rustic replaced into left in after each and every labour government on the grounds that 1945. A vote for labour replaced right into a vote for commerce union capacity and the commerce unions weren't the elected physique and that they did not have the mandate of the voters. It took a female, Margaret Thatcher to get the unions out of Whitehall and back interior the area of work. I actual have continuously voted Conservative.

He's made a deal with Gordon Brown to leave and 'carry the can' after the -sure to be disastrous - May elections. This will allow Gordon to be 'cleansed' of the problems of the past and (in the eyes of the electorate) become a fresh new leader. Which is a shame because he voted in favour of the Iraq war just as Blair did. But it's a win/win situation for Blair & Brown. Blair gets to make the supreme sacrifice and will end his career in failure for the good of the party, to which the party faithful will love him eternally for. And Brown gets to free himself of his past and emerge as an undefeated Prime Minister. Of course in all this filthy politicking the public are the losers, but who cares about them? Not those in Parliament.

If everyone was that bothered about Blair they wouldn't have voted him in for another term as it was all before the general election. He was given the job by the voters so why shouldn't he continue until the next election.
Besides I would rather have another vote to see who comes into power rather than see Brown or any other MP suggested take over...

I wasn't aware that there is any public confidence left in the labour party or tony bliar! They fiddle the books and no doubt his master bush, over the other side of the Atlantic (thank God it seperates us from bush) will have explained to him how to put the labour idiots back in power, after all he is the grand master of electronic voting and deception.

I totally agree with you ,He is certainly conceited enough to want Labour to lose the next General-Election .
Perhaps this is what he means by his legacy.

He's hanging on until May because by then he will have completed ten years in the post and thus qualifies for a larger pension.
