I am 16 years old and recently went on the pill, since ive been on it my breasts have been sore and heavy the doctor said they might grow because of the pill. i found a hardness inside my left breast but a tiny bit in my right and i am not sure what this could be, is it because they are growing? or something to do with milk from the pill? just thought i would ask if anyone had any suggestions....

The pill often affects the breast tissue and can make them feel very heavy and sore.

For your peace of mind go to the doctor and get it checked out as it is always a good thing to do if you notice any changes in breast tissue.
Don't worry as i am sure this is perfectly harmless and nothing to worry about. But you should get it looked at hun.

My breasts got larger when I was on the pill, and I noticed about then, these strange round disk like things beneath my areola. Turns out that is normal tissue, but I only knew that from years of experience and by asking the doctor. Anywho, you'd only know if you did regular breast exams, so I'd either talk to an advice nurse, or go see a doctor.

Its quite likely that it is because of your pill, any breast changes should be checked over by a doctor though so its best to go and get it checked out, are you sure you are not pregnant? I only ask because you say they feel sore and heavy. Good luck x

Any hormone can cause breast tenderness/sore/lumpy/hard however if I was you I would go to doctors and ask to see nurse or doctor just to have it checked out.
It is very rare for someone so young to get breast cancer if that is what is worrying you i feel that it is to do with not only the pill but also your changing body.
No one can tell you for sure just go to doctor you are not wasing your time or their any doctor or nurse will be glad you are sensible ok.

Research has suggested that birth control pills can cause breast cysts. I had some benign cysts removed from my breast when I was on the pill and when I went off it I didn´t have any more problems.

Looking at your age, fortunately serious problems are mercifully rare. However your only safe plan is to go see your GP and have an examination.
