The answer is no one. Some movies should never be remade. Hollywood should try an original idea for a change.

Well since both Meg Ryan and Rita Wilson suck let someone other than Tom do it. How bout Jim Carrery

The damage has already been done. Several years ago Marlo Thomas starred in a TV version of the classic film. It was tailored for a woman, of course, but it was the same story. And it was a disaster. Some movies should be left alone. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is the sole property of James Stewart and Donna Reed, and I think most of us prefer it that way.

I can picture George Clooney playing the George Bailey role.
He has a look that's reminiscent of the B&W classic movies, and could act the part well.

As others have said, Tom Hanks or Dennis Quaid would work well too, i think : )

I agree with you. Tom Hanks would make a wonderful star of that movie. I just don't know if I would want to make a change to the first one. It's incomparable.

Nicholas Cage & Elisabeth Shue would be good as they have great chemistry. If the producers want to put a funnier spin on the story, agree that Jim Carey would be good for the role with Jenny McCarthy as the female lead.

Let's see... who do I love as much as Jimmy Stewart? Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, the guy in Armageddon that got the girl, or the guy in Pearl Harbor that was the daddy but died. Brad Pitt too.

I think Adrien Brody would make a wonderful George Bailey with Mary-Louise Parker as his wife.

yours is an excellent choice! Others that come to mind...
Patrick Dempsey & Kate Hudson (I think she is ideal for Mary with any male actor)
Micheal Keaton
Melanie Griffith
Randy or Dennis Quaid
Jeff Bridges

I agree with gamegurl...I would be very angry if they remade "It's a Wonderful Life".
