Yes, they are necessary to support sites like Yahoo answers, which provide free services to people who ask dumb questions and waste people's time just because they have nothing better to do except ponder about meaningless things that make no sense.

Yes they are necessary up to a limit. They are necessary to enhance our comfort services and knowledge but today adds are made in a very funny manner targeting children which should not happen like for junk food.If you mean by these kinds of adds then we definitely do not need them.

Advertising pays for all of the aforementioned and you, basically just pay a small percentage of the cost of receiving a newspaper. Advertising spots, especially on big attractions like the Superbowl cost millions of dollars.
