Roads and buildings lend to a square layout better. Straignt roads and square buildings. It forms a regular pattern

For a "round city" I think of Paris with roads radiating from the Arc de triomph. Also a neat layout. You have roads in spokes and rings.
One spoke will cross each ring at two points confusing addresses slightly.
Oddly shaped lots and buildings are harder to design but interesting to view.
Giving directions would have to change from Go north one block to proceede outward on spoke 1 then clockwise two blocks to...
Water/sewer/power Difficult to curve. Power lines need guy downs, sewer tends to clog, all are more difficult to install on a radius.
