I'm sure the Shiites would say that Muhammed would agree with them, and the Sunnis would say that Muhammed would agree with them. That is the problem with all religion. It engenders an unholy, ungodly, and untrue view that "we are right, everyone who disagrees with us is wrong".

Muhammed was violent and condoned violence as a method of recruiting converts. I classify him in the same basket as the spanish inquisition.

No but he would probably be murdered by members of one, or possibly both sects. Jihad is a Holy war, but not one to be perpetrated upon others. Jihad is a spiritual war within each soul to come to terms with its defectie human qualities ( or energies ) and by using the power of The Most High and Merciful to overcome the influence of those defects upon ones own person

I think it's hilarious that moe could create a religion that specifies dress code, eating habits, and how many times and in what manner you must pray...

...but it did NOT specify any type of succession after the last prophet died! Hmmmm.... reminds me more of comunist regimes and the mafia, more than a religion.
