i have most stuff just would like help on how it has affected the electorate.

The average Joe and Jane now go by whatever the media feeds them. They make political choices based on popluarized opinions, rather than investigation and facts. It's scary how many reasonably intelligent people think the President is some all knowing, all controlling supreme being.

Urban Legend:

*The President can do something to change oil prices.

Fact:

Oil prices are controlled by three things: OPEC, Supply and Demand and the World Economy. All the president can do is release Federal oil reserves. This gives some relief in gas prices by easing the Supply and Demand quotient, Albeit temporarily.

Urban Legend:

*The President is responsible for the economy.

Fact:

Corporate America and the World Economy control the state of economics in America. The president can only sign legislation that would assist in this in the form of tax breaks and funded projects _IF_ Congress and Senate proposes and passes such matters.

Urban Legend:

*The President is responsible for the current situation in Iraq.

Fact: Our Legislative bodies, including many of it's members who bash the President for it, supported the offensive on Iraq, based on the same intelligence the President, our military leaders and Allied leaders had. Well read people know that while the President is the Commander in Chief, his desisions are largely based on the opinions of the pentagon and military commanders.

Urban Legend:

*Bill Clinton gave our nation great prosperity and peace.

Fact: Clinton inherited an economy on a steady 5% increase from the First President Bush. The balanced budget Clinton takes credit for was the product of Newt Gingrich and the Republican Legislative branch. Clinton had nothing to do with it other than "being there". Clinton was offered the already wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden on a silver platter, but he refused to deal with it. He also gave nuclear technology to North Korea. Remmber these issues and how they have come back to bite us?

I could go on for days, but things will never change till people demand the facts and are willing to read to find them.
