I had severe endo which started about ten years ago. Being on the pill lessened it somewhat, and I had laparoscopy surgery about 6 yrs ago which seemed to help a bit as well. When I went off the pill 4 yrs ago, it seemed like it had stopped -- my periods are short now and completely tolerable with very minimal cramping. Could it be gone?

Not gone, necessarily, as there is no absolute cure...just in remission. Which is a great thing. It sounds like your treatments have helped quell some of the symptoms over the years and now it's managed effectively. That's good news...if the pain or symptoms recur, do see your doc again, but if you feel well for the time being, embrace it. Best wishes for continued pain-free intervals.

I also have endometriosis and am taking BC pills to lessen the symptoms. My doctor told me that it never disappears but the symptoms can subside. I also have less cramping since being on the pill but I am afraid to stop taking it for fear that my symptoms will return.

I had endometriosis and had surgery done twice already. The only way to know is to get an ultra-sound. Endemetriosis may cause infertility, but if you get lucky and do get pregnant, it has been known that pregnancy can heal or fix your endometriosis.
