I want to play warcraft III (yes I know it's an old game but I liked it) on my laptop but the graphics don't work correctly anyone know where/if I can do anything to fix the problem? I can play more up to date games just this one comes out in a different way, the game is just white with no details so it's unplayable in its current state.

I think its driver problem.
Re-install your graphic card drivers for your laptop and make sure they are the latest ones.
But then again.. there might be an issue with the compatibility for you graphic card and the game.
Specify your graphic card along with your laptop company and model number to get more specific help.

Hmm if you have an ATI graphics card with Catalyst control centre turn settings to basic (turn of aa/af)?

If you have a Nvidia also go to NV control panel and turn settings down.

Im thinking its because there are new features enabled on your graphics card which the old game wont reconize.

Hope it helps

To be fair the only way is to upgrade your graphics card there are utilities to speed up you card but you use them at your own risk because when you clock a graphics card you do it by software and overclocking to the point of destruction is possible anyway you can get of the better known one called powerstrip from here be careful http://www.download.com/PowerStrip/3000-2086_4-10395724.html

Try checking the website of the laptop's manufacturer to see if they have an undated driver for the graphic card in your model.
