WHen I was younger I had this problem as well. Being 6'4" and not 180 pounds.
BUt metabolism slows down eventually and the problem goes away. There are thing you can do to gain weight. Of course calorie intake. You have to eat more calories than you burn. The more active you are the more calories you will burn.
Go to a webs site to get your BMI (body mass index) measured. It will helpo determine how many calories you need to intake to gian weight. Also, make sure you eat a couple times a day. 5 medium sized meals of carbohydrates, protein and veggies is better than two or 3 meals. Your body will not be able to burn all the calories of 5 meals and will have to store the energy (weight).
Also, eat right before bed. Your body won';t be able to burn your "weight" but it will burn the food you just ate. Finally, work out. Muscle is more dense than fat/bones and will help gain weight. But, it won't happen overnight. But it will happen. Consisentency is the key.

i was 130 lbs and 5.5" tall after a search i found out about this web site http://www.creatinemonohydrate.net/muscle_mass.html.
$ 100 and u get books CD, live chat with the Anthony Ellis once a week to ask him questions.
as a skinny guy your diet and workout is a lot different then a regular guy.Basically I'll have to eat a lot (according to your weight) and workout less. about 3 hrs or so a week ( heavy). if u can't afford the $100 I'll be glad to give some advice to get u started at least.

There are three extreme types of people.
Ectomorphic (tall and skinny), Endomorphic (short and round) and Mesomorphic (muscular).

You're ectomorphic.
This means you'll have a very hard time putting on fat and muscle. Its just in your make up.
It doesn't mean that you'll not be able to get strong when you do weights, it simply means you wont put on bulk.
This is actually why Bruce Lee had such strength in such a small frame, plus he worked out in order to excentuate this.

All you can do it change your diet to suit, and make sure you work out in such a way that you're whole body benefits rather than just portions.

It'll be worth your time to concentrate for the first few months on your legs. As they're the biggest muscles in your body, when they start getting bigger, you body will be very much used to building muscle and you can easily move on to other area in the same way.

Dont try to put on fat!

Putting on fat for naturally thin people is actually more dangerous than for everyone else.
Everyone else tends to put weight on around their stomach or bum, or thighs.
Naturally slim people tend to put it on inside their chest cavity and can easily end up with fat stores around their hearts and lungs.

Eat red meats and the whites of eggs, no yolks, they contain a lot of cholesterol. That will give you a lot of proteins to help build you up.

Hi, i am assuming you are relatively young, i had the same problem from teenage years to mid twentys.
If you are in that sort of age bracket then it is probably due to your metabolism being high and thus burning everything you eat very quickly, i tried something called crash weight gain that had a huge ammount of calories and i still didnt put on any weight, i am now in my thirties and have the opposite problem i have to work bloody hard to keep my weight on an even keel, so my advice is to eat normally and let nature take its course.

Drink those Ensure meal drinks as well as eating your regular meals; eat lots of protein (chicken, eggs) and drink lots of milk, and eat cheese, too.
Don't eat McDonald's, that's poisonous as well as fattening.

But honestly, I love skinny guys.
Don't put on any weight; meatheads are disgusting.

Squats, deadlifts, bench presses, weighed pullups, weighed dips, and overhead presses. Nothing else, any exercises beyond that will lead to overtraining. Eat 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of lean mass.

please dont worry about it. I was skinny as well a lot of people thought I was sick or something. I tried a lot of stuff but it did'nt work. Eventually it started to work when I ate late at nights, just before going to bed. Thing like chicken, cornflakes, macroni and cheese and drink lots of juices / water.hope it works for you. I'm now happy.

eat more... i doubt you've tried everything.
I have had many skinny people come to me and say they eat 'loads'
Loads is about 7,000 Kcal a day of good food.

If you really can't put muscle on with that much intake a day I would be suprised.

i would try combining progain + cyclone (maximuscle bodybuilding supplements) this is sure to put on some weight. If u combine this with ONLY HEAVY sessions on bench, deadlifts, squats and bicep curls you will definately put on weight!
