If I remember correctly, some higher end Jaguars of the early 2000 came with them. I think maybe Audi made one too at one point in time. Good luck on your search.

An all aluminium engine is a very rare beast and I doubt you will find one, but there were certain cars which had aluminium cylinder heads. The Hillman imp and its derivatives spring to mind. Big problem was removing the head, aluminium reacts with the steel bolts, causes corrosion and virtually locks the two together. You don't state what the application is that you want the engine for, but if weight is critical and as you say you only want a small engine perhaps you would be better looking for a motorcycle engine to do the job.

The hillman imp had an aluminium engine, but the same engine was used in the Talbot Samba. It is a coventry climax engine originally. You are more likely to find a Talbot Samba in the scrap yards. If you can find a firm the sells ex mod or fire service equipment then you will find that these engines where used to power water draining pumps!

A rover 214 engine has a aluminium block and head. They are cheap to purchase from scrap yards BUT you need to make sure you get the full wire loom with it as it has a complicated electronic engine management system.

Hilman Imp. I owned one and it was amazing. Probably one of the best engines that was ever put into a family car. Hilman Imp came to an end because the car was being sold at below its production cost. The government forced Hilman to produce engines in Scotland whilst the car was assembled in the Midlands. Another government plank.

Back in the 70's the Chevy Vega had an aluminum engine, but I don't know if you could find one now or not. Other than this, there were not many made with aluminum blocks, at least not American engines, but there are a lot of them with aluminum heads out there.

Aluminium blocks are quite common in Europe and Japan.
I'm not sure which American models use them, though.
I would concentrate on the Japanese brands, especially Honda and Toyota.
