It is fairly new, has no problems and hasn't been dropped, got wet or damaged in any way. I have had no problems with it in the past, but now it refuses to turn on.
It ran out of battery and when I plug it in to the wall, nothing happens, no lights come on to signify that it has been connected to a power source. I have left it charging all night, but still it refuses to turn on.
Is there any way Ican bring it back to life?

I had the opposite problem - mine wouldn't turn off. It was like that for about 3/4 days and then all of a sudden (after been on charge for 2-3 days without me touchinng it) it suddenly came back to life and is now perfect once more.

I think it must knock it out of sync when the battery is low all the time

if the battery is gone in the ipod, apparently it's dead for good with no repair. is it still under warranty? back to shop if it is. check the recharger with a multimeter and see if it's working. failing that borrow a charger off someone and try charge it.

my ipods being gay too !

ok. plug it up to your computer to charge it. you may have tried it already but do it again ! then write a leeter to Apple saying they have created a genious invention but there are too many problems going on with iPod all over the world.
