You should call your Dr., or a DR if you have not yet been seen by an OB. It could be harmless, but it could be something, and you need to be checked out. In the future, and for all others reading this, when you are pregnant and spotting or cramping....anything like this call your Dr's office, that is why they have nurses and sometimes the Dr on call. They will glady call you back with further instructions. Time is of the essence in these situations and you are paying the Dr for OB care not just delivery care. Good Luck!
None of us on here can tell you if this is normal, every body is different. You really need to be checked by either your OB or the ER.

Sometimes you can get breakthrough bleeding which is like a light period during pregnancy, and is the body trying to adjust to being pregnant. However, if you're having cramping as well at this early stage I suggest you see a doctor because it can also be a sign of miscarriage. You need to be checked out ASAP. Good luck!

HI... I too had this with my first preganancy..
I was working at a womens hospital as well and so I was getting ready to wig out.. thinking i was having a miscarriage..
I called the doc who worked in my radioloy dept.. and he said.. .. If you are misscarrying.. there is nothing you can do about it.. just get rest.. till the morning.. and to call my doc..
which I did.. Ob doc.. In the am I went for an ultrasound.. transvaginal.. they could not find anything for about 3o minutes.. and I was getting ready to bawl my eyes out.. then at last.. a doc came in and manipulated the transducer in a certain direction.. and VOILA>> There she was.. I was so happy...
YOU MUST>>>I mean must notify your OB DOC>> they will want to do an ultrasound.. but try not to obsess.. because there is a great liklihood all will be well..
In the mean time.. get off your feet and rest. your body for a bit.. After that I was fine..
Ill say a prayer for you..

Many women have spotting like this during pregnancy so I would try not to worry too much. However, I would get it checked or ask your doctot for advice just as a precaution and to put your mind at rest x

It sounds like the signs of a miscarriage, unless you just got checked by the dr. or had sex...even so call the dr.

If you recently had an external exam or sex, that could be the cause of the spotting.
I'd still call my OB/GYN just in case.

If you may have had sex your partner may have gotten to rough; but I would still see a doctor to make sure that you and the baby are OK. Either way please see a doctor
