I think the law should be that at 60 years of age, old people should be required to take a series of tests (vision tests, hearing tests, proving they know how to operate a car, etc...), and if they pass they should be allowed to drive for another 5 years. But at the age of 65, all old people need to be off the road.

Sorry to hear about your friends.
It's really a shame.

More people are killed by drivers between the ages of 16-25 then 65-75. Most seniors drive slow and during the day so they are less likely to cause a fatal accident. That being said anyone with a progressive disease that impairs there ability to drive should have to take mandatory driving test to renew there license.

here in spain they give older people or disabled people smaller cars which have i think a motor thats 49cc and they go very slow and are much easyer to drive and would cause if any a lot less acedents i think it is a very good idea and spain is the only place i have seen them
I think that they should re test older drivers to see if they are still capable of driving because there are some people at 70 who are still able to drive safely.

Yes it does scare me. But yeah you're right. And if senior citizens try to enjoy their remaining life driving, then they have to be with a normal and trustworthy person to guide them and stuff.
