all the fluids of your body are at least a little bit salty. All of them have some salts dissolved in them and always a little of the commonest salt, sodium chloride. (That’s the one that tastes saltiest.) Your blood contains a little less than 1 percent sodium chloride and your tears probably contain almost that much. Just for comparison, seawater contains about 3 percent sodium chloride.

The glands they are produced in contain salt. It's part of our body make up. It's basically the same reason sweat is salty also.
