I am 14 years old and I am black. My friend Tom has a cute sister Paige who is white. Her mom knows I have a crush on her. Paige is 13 and in 7th grade and I am in 8th. Well, I guess Tom told his mom about this and Paiges mom said for me to forget about asking Paige out out because Greek Goddesses dont date Monkeys. I dont want to get Tom in trouble and he is embarrased by his mom so should I just be friends with Tom and never go over to his house anymore?

what can you do, man? she sounds so far gone, that the only thing you can possibly do that has class would be not to go there. it sounds like tom is cool; he understands his mom's dumb @ss, so just avoid her and know you're better. (what a fu@kin @sshole)

also, you might be asking for trouble by going after Paige. if you want to, it would be interesting, but the girl might not be as strong as her brother....and she may know her mom's an idiot, but won't know how to deal with it.

good luck...and on behalf of my white skin: sorry. it's 2007 and there are still people with their heads this far up!

Well, I was going to say maybe her mom doesnt want you to ask her out because she's too young, but after finishing reading your question the mom is obviously a racist. The thing about racists is you can't change them. So I would keep up your friendship with Tom, he sounds like a good guy, and avoid the mother. If you confront her, it will just cause problems with Tom and Paige.

13 and 14 is a little young for dating anyways. Keep your friend, ignore his mother.
If you're intent on dating white girls expect a LOT of grief from their parents. I'm white and have 3 daughters. 2 are with black men. The only reason I disapprove is because one is a crack user, currently in jail with 8 kids by 5 different women, and the other is a dope dealer. It's not their race that bothers me.

Sorry to hear that prejudice and racism is still being taught and handed down to different generations.
It is unfortunate that you had to suffer this experience at such a young age, hopefully it will not damage you for your future freindships and dealings with other races in your older years.
When we get hurt at a young age by ignorant remarks,it sometimes carries over into adulthood, which I hope does not happen in your case.
That is how racism, and hatred is spread, one of the main reasons we are fighting a war overseas right now, with many innocent lives being changed forever.

OH! I'm so sorry you had to encounter such ignorance at such a young age the mom obviously is stupid, ignorant and a bigot .Don't let her behavior dictate how you view people of different races, i would tell my parents let them deal with her accordingly, as far as Tom be his friend ,he is not responsible for his mom ignorant behavior .Does the sister share the same view as the mom if she doesn't you can be friends .She or anybody else can not tell you who to date or who to be friends with .

It's not Tom's fault.
Tom was embarrassed by his mother's childish behavior.
Just be friends with Tom and try to stay away from his mom. They're not the same.

Forget about it. You're too young to be in a relationship anyway, just leave it alone, its too much trouble for now. Focus on your studies and ignore his stupid mother and anyone else that is racist, these people go to hell anyway, don't waste your time or your breath, you'll never change her mind, and trying to convince her will only make you seem weak. I'm all for interracil dating, but you both are too young.

my god some people are so mean I cant believe somebody would say that to a child.yes you must stay friends with tom.it isnt his fault that his mother is ignorant. what is toms sister like if she is anything like her mother I would stay well away from her.You are very young and I am sure there are plenty of nice girls who would love to date you.

tell her that it truly is misguided for her to make those comments, highly round different human beings that do not agree. i'm sorry yet you could replace the way she sees Jewish human beings. yet you could replace her expressing those disgusting perspectives in the front of human beings, that is the position the large problem is.

Your still pretty young to understand racism. I wouldn't go over there again. Why put yourself through that torcher. I have two young daughters and have to admit there are some people I would be totally against my dating. I would probably chase them away. So consider yourself lucky and stay away. There more fish in the sea.
