Well, in my sole opinion, I think it's better to travel before college.
Take some time off and clear your head and all.
When college starts it will be rush and rush and work after work, so I suggest you go to a trip (better alone) and meet some new people and prepare yourself for a new beginning.

During, study or do an internship abroad. Depending on the program you are in and what school you decide to attend you may be able to do more than study abroad opportunity. Travel during summer vacation you have 3 months from May-August.
