Is there a chart i can download to my phone that helps you with tipping in the usa, basically i want to be able to calculate the tip if my meal comes to $130 or even when i get my bar check at the end of the night.

Even easier than all that. Just take 10% and double it. On $130 it's 13 times 2 = $26. Simple.

why be that concerned with having that exact amount of a tip? I tip depending on how well the service is, not on how much the check is. For example i went to Outback Steakhouse the other day and I left a $15 tip, I think the bill was about $45. The service was the best I've had in a long time, the food was great and we had a great time. The wait staff usually only gets paid about $2.25 an hour and they are expected to make the rest up with tips.

Give a tip on how great the service was, how good the food or drinks were and how good you felt afterwards.

15% isn't much harder to do in your head then 10% if you break it down
10 $ 10 % is 1 dollar, then add half of that 50 cents tip is 1.50 or 15 %
23.41 10 percent is 2.34 + 1/2 (or 1.17) = 3.51
Generally I don't go by percentages because I eat at inexpencive restarants. If I pay 7 dollars for a meal I really enjoyed and the service was good I'll drop a 10$ bill and go on my way. it's a 43% tip but it's only 3 dollars why should a waitress who serves me a 20 dollar meal make more then a waitress who serves me a 7 dollar meal? they're both working just as hard.

easy way tip between 10-20 % 10% of 130 is 13 that would be minimum. if your service was good and 5 dollars or whatever you think would suffice. also there should be a program in your phone probably in the same area as the calulator it would say tip calculator u can use that or just calculate it yourself $130 x .15 = $19.50 real easy!!!

More for my own need to state it.

Don't calculate exact tips...if your bill -- per person is under $15 each.

Most folks have added clear input. Except the basic tip is 15% and up if you feel the service was great.

On the other hand...if you buy a bottle of $400 wine, you don't need to tip the 15% on it. When you realize all they've done is bring you the bottle and open it. So as you can see, the landscape can invert the higher you go.

Just balance yourself between cheapskate and overly generous..and you'll be fine.

Just tip 10%, thats pretty straightforward to work out.

$10 - £1 tip
$50 - $5 tip
$100 - $10
$130 - $13

The standard percentage is 15%, so just take your total bill and mulitply it by .15

just use simple math - give 15% for OK service, more for better service

Is it not just a standard %?
