I live in New York, just curious if anyone has been pulled over for having tinted windows, that being the only offense. (i.e. no speeding, running a red light, etc.)

thanks!

yes. many times. I live in Texas and alot of the towns have laws that your tint can only be so dark. no limo tint. they check it with a UV meter and if its to dark its ticket time. im not sure but it might actually be a law in texas on that one. maybe not just the towns..all i know is at least 7 to 10 times per month im shelling out 128.00 each. but i will not take it off.,

Yes, I have plenty of times. It is illegal in some states to have tinted windows on the driver and passenger windows. You may have them on the back side. I have heard in some states that you can not tint the front or the back windows, but you can tint the sides. If you can get a prescription for tinted windows from a eye doctor; tell them your eye's are light sensitive and you get lots of headaches and blink alot when they shine a light when checking your eyes, you may get away with it. When I was younger I just paid the fine everytime, and now I have a prescription to have tinted windows.

I stay in Texas like some different person wrote. I had a 2002 F-one hundred fifty which I had both the front homestead windows tinted to the criminal max of 35%. the different homestead windows were tinted from the production unit. I had no complications yet when I had it inspected it failed because the shop that tinted them for me placed on the incorrect tint. I not in any respect did get pulled over although. I had to strip the tint off and performance it retinted.

Yes, a Highway Patrolman pulled me over for my tinted windows. He gave me a warning and told me to get the tint taken off.

I have and you will to in Pennsylvania unless the tint was factory installed. this only applies to the front door windows on both sides. My tint was medium but on a dark night it was nearly impossible to see anything behind you by looking in the mirrors
