I was at the YMCA and I was showering nude around a few guys and I got an erection. The guy next to me pretended not to notice when he talked to me. I have never really found dudes attractive but I do sometimes glance at the naked guys from time to time just to compare myself. Is this normal?

Don, here's the deal:
1. You are a man.
2. We men get erections in the oddest of places and at the oddest times.
3. If you have no sexual fantasies in private about men and usually have no feelings of sexual attraction towards men, then you are not homosexual or bisexual.
Comparing yourself to other men in the locker room or shower room is completely within the heterosexual range of sexuality. And men get erections in public showers sometime. They get erections in doctors' offices. They get erections at times when they are sitting at their desks at work. It's all part of being a man. We may not like it. We may get embarrassed by it. But that is the way it is. When the guy next to you "pretended to not notice" he was merely putting you at ease and being supportive of you even thought he did not know you. Rest assured, it was not the first time he ever saw a man have an erection in a public shower or locker room.

This depends mostly on the way you think of youself of you'er doubting your sexual "choice" then you should really seek couseling but for the most part that is as normal as taking a shower, don't worry maybe it had nothing to do with the guys being there maybe it was just a spontaneous erection. OK so think about it since I don't think that being gay is not normal.

Hey dude, if you got an erection in the shower with other guys...I think you may have a strong libido. If you felt the urge to kiss the other guys..you could be gay or bi.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Most of us compare ourselves to others, naked or dressed. The erection could just be a result of working out since excercise triggers hormone release.

Were you just comparing yourself? That is fairly normal, but if you were thinking about other guys sexually and got an erection, then you may have gay tendencies.

If you have an erection while watching naked guys you might be gay.
However check your erection while watching a naked girl. You may be gay or bisexual.

To be honest, I don't think it makes you gay because you had an erection. I would say it was just a coincidence and you are very normal.

for me is totally normal
i think is normal that u compared ur self and body with other dudes... is cool it does not mean that ur homesexual... i least u wanna do something with a guy... then in the case u r gay.

Comparing yourself is normal. However if you are becoming excited by guys that is something else.
Perhaps you should talk to a counselor.
Many will say homosexuality is not normal. I am not one of them.
