As a Scot, I would have to say I have no problem with English individuals. I do however, get worked up by sports commentators constantly referring to 1966; the use of 'English' when it should be 'British'; the way the BBC weather map makes the whole of Scotland look tiny compared to the home counties; that Manchester gets described as being "up north" (is it in Shetland??) and I am sure I could think of other examples if I tried. Individually, they are all petty but collectively they reveal an Anglo-centric, London orientated media (TV and print) that seem unaware of life beyond the Watford gap.

I think its mainly the scots, just take the scottish tennis player (andy murrey) for instance, when asked about who he would be supporting when england were playing an opposing team he said he would give his support for any team that played against england...He is not the only person to say this i think that waste of oxygen gordon brown came out with a simular statement!!
Still he does not mind when he gets lots of support from the english that pay to watch him play at wimbledown.
i remember going to a game between england and sweden and low and behold who was supporting sweden, yes aload of scots.
I do not have any problem with the scots and i have a couple of good scottish mates but what does get on my nerves is when the scots who choose to live in england support everyone else but england,i mean why live here if you dont like the english.

It's the English, but the Scots are not on their own in that respect!
I cant really think of any place that likes the English, apart from a few Americans that have seen and heard Hugh Grant performing, or they think England is 'cute'!

I am English but lived in Scotland for a while and they dont hate the English at all. In fact most Celtic supporters also support Liverpool. They have the same anthem and are the best of friends. You wanna try staying there for a while, they are very friendly. In fact so are the Irish people. There is no friction between any of us.

English people. They have never got over the fact that England dominates them and that Scotland could not survive as a country in its own right. Very bitter people the Scots!

I dont have a problem with the Scots in fact most Eglish people have some Scotish blood, I think its the media hype asusual. What worries me is the press and how they can stir up so much trouble and turn a whole nation into believing what they say...sorry a bit heavy.

Oh it's definitley the English. They put themselves on such a high pedastal. If the Scots are rubbish at something then they say they are, English think they should win at everything and expect to but rarely do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
