Go to the Moen dealer and they will give you a little plastic tool that lets you turn the cartridge . Then go back with it ,or call before going the first time if you know the model you have,they will give you all the parts you need and may be more.

Take the handle off. unscrew the domed shaped part. Pull out the old cartridge. Lubricate the new cartridge's O rings, vegetable oil, vasiline, anything non toxic you have. drop in the new caetridge. Done, however, if your hot and cols sides are reversed, you gotta turn the cartridge 180 degrees.
