I wouldn't worry, I know many people who have needed to be admitted to a hospital and had to wait in the ER due to no available beds, when what they really mean is there is no staffing. And there are many ways to be a nurse, besides in a hospital setting, such as hospice care, home health care, travelling nurses, etc.

Since there will be many registered nurses leaving their jobs and because of increasing technology and the need for people to treat those diagnosed with illnesses, the occupation of registered nurses is said to increase faster than average for all occupations throughout 2014.

A nursing degree requires 4 years of school and a year of clinicals. It is a rigerous program, with a lot of attrition. If you survive, it's not likely you'll be competing for a job with many new graduates. Nursing is one of the few professions that cannot be outsourced.

My advice is this , find a school and become a certified occupational therapy assistant, if you look in to it you will see why. Believe me this is your smartest choice. Good luck.
