If i am 20 weeks pregnant does that mean i am 5 months pregnant or 4? i know you are pregnant for 40 weeks, but i am confused as to what i should say when people ask how far along i am. I have been saying 5 months but when i say i am due in july i feel like i am only 4 months along!

0-4 weeks = 1 month
4-8 weeks = 2 months
8-12 weeks = 3 months
12-16 weeks = 4 months
16-20 weeks = 5 months
20-24 weeks = 6 months
24-28 weeks = 7 months
28-32 weeks = 8 months
32-36 weeks = 9 months
36-40 weeks =10 months

Actually, a pregnancy lasts 38 weeks, but they make it a 40 week time table because they measure from your last peiod. Just tell people you are 20 weeks. Or you can tell them you're half way there! Or you're in your second trimester. Whatever way makes you feel more comfortable. Women understand the weeks thing, and most pregnant women I talk to use weeks and not months to share how far along they are. At any rate, congratulations!

If you want to say months, 20 weeks is half way and half of 9 months is 4 1/2 months, so say you are 4 1/2 months. Or just say you are halfway. Or say you are due on July ____, or say you have ____months or _____weeks left. I know it's confusing, but if they are strangers does it really matter?

divide 20 by 4 and that equals 5 months. pregnancy really goes on 10 months or 40 weeks.

The 9 months are "calendar months" on the average. So I would give it to them by Calendar months (if you got pregnant on the 27th, then add a month every 27th, etc.) or tell them by weeks.
