I was watching BBC Four and BBC Three last night and it suddenly occured to me that I was in an ad free environment because I pay for a TV licence unlike on ITV and Channel 4 where the programs I watch are funded by the advertisers...to me the BBC content is deffo worth the £120 I pay every year, considering how expensive Sky is every month. Interested in what other people think.

To respond to the point below, Sky charges you over £500 for its content and it is full of ads..surely £120 for all the BBC's TV, radio and web channels and NO ADS is good value next to this ??!!

Repeats near every day, repeats in the holiday seasons, repeats overnight and then more channels showing more repeats!? I resent having to pay the amount it costs for a TV licence. Adverts may be annoying on the other channels, but BBC1 and 2 have those annoying intermission snippets which cost the earth to make, and then say we should be thankful to see them. I'd much rather watch the old globe turning any time! I think it's about time BBC channels were funded by advertising to give us 'common' people a break on the ever increasing extortionate costs of these and other companies.
