I've got a 2.5 hour layover in Denver on my way back to California from New York. I have a friend who lives in Colorado Springs, and he wants to meet me in Denver so we can go out for dinner together.
Do we have enough time to leave the airport? Or should we just get airport food?

The security lines at the airport in Denver are very long. There is only ONE line because after you go through security you then get on this little train/tram that takes you to the gates for boarding and that is where all the food is. It takes awhile to get from your gate to the other side of security and then to go back through security, so I don't think you'd have much time to see your friend. Maybe if your friend brings food you could meet outside and picnic together but you really wouldn't have much time since they recommend you get to the airport 2 hours before your flight in order to get through security. I waited about 45 minutes in the security line there. Hope this helps.

You won't have time to get out of the airport, get to downtown, have dinner and get back in time for your flight.
There are a lot of good restaurants in the airport. Unfortunately, many of them are beyond the security checkpoints, where your friend will not be able to go. There are a few good places in the main terminal though, just not the bigger restaurants.
Have fun. Denver is my favorite airport.

The airport is quite a distance from Denver downtown or anywhere to get a nice meal. I would try to get something at the airport; better than missing your connection.

no everything in denver is far from the airport and you have to go through security if you leave and the lines are crazy. there are someok restaurants in the airport but i think the may be after security, if he doesnt have a ticket he cant get through. there is some stuff in the main terminal...

it isnt long. i would suggest airport food.at least you will not miss your connection then.
