I'm pretty sick of ignorant people responding to my posts about Islam with statements like "you're taking it out of context" or "it doesn't say that" or "Islam isn't violent, it's just a few radicals like every religion has." Saying the Koran and the Hadiths aren't about mass-murder is like saying that Moby Dick isn't about whale-hunting.

No rational person who has read both works can argue that it's not about killing. It says how to kill, when to kill, where to kill, whom should be killed, and what the reward is for killing them.

Everytime I'm in an Israeli bookstore to buy a copy some Palestinian suicide bomber talking about the "religion of peace" comes in and blows himself up, making it impossible for me to get a copy to read.

I tried to read the Koran (Penguin translation) but could not get into it. I am told the Arabic is classic poetry. Perhaps it lost some of that in translation.
I did read a book of Sayings of Mohammed which I believe was taken from the Hadiths. That was more interesting and agreeable.
I do not feel any rancor towards the Muslims or their holy book and teachings.
What I do have a huge problem with is people committing horrible vicious acts of violence against other people, usually civilians, and claiming to be members of a religious group. If any Christians were doing to people what al qaeda is doing to the Iraqis right now, I would be the first to make every effort to track down and take out these madmen. They are a cancer in the body of humanity and must be stopped at any cost.

Keep preaching, brother.

I have read the Bukhari Hadiths.

Everyone always hears about how the Quran is about peace but they are being lied to.

Muhammad preached peace to followers in Mecca when he thought Christians and Jews would accept him as the last prophet or Messiah.

But he grew angry when he was rejected, not only by Christians and Jews, but by his fellow Arabs as well.

He fled to Medina and then abrogated (replaced) his peaceful passages with violent passages that told his followers that God wanted them to kill non-believers.

More importantly, people know little about the Quran but KNOW NOTHING about the Hadiths.

The Hadiths are Islamic texts that complement the Quran. They provide biographical information about Muhammad.

The Hadiths describe how Muhammad personally killed people, raped little girls like Aisha and stabbed women like Asma bint Marwan.

Keep up the good work.

To be a good Muslim means to be a violent Muslim. They are taught to hate non-believers and that Islam is a political philosophy (not religion) that should replace all secular governments.

I have not read the Koran however I do beleive that you have a good piont. I'm tierd of people saying that to me as well. People who haven't read it have no place in judging that religion fairly. I'm going to look for a copy around where I live so that I can tell people what you are telling them.

Have a great day fellow American.
