You get the information from your own life experiences I guess.

Hopefully, people that answer health questions are professionally trained. I have been a paramedic and educator for a number of years; however, I can tell from some of the answers that are posted, the people have no idea what they are talking about. Life experiences are not always a great source of knowledge because everyone is different and they will react to things in different ways. People, although most of the time they mean well, should NEVER advise anyone to take medication. You are dealing with a human life and people have DIED from medications that have been prescribed by a doctor. Doctors have malpractice insurance, and the training, so let them do the prescribing. Also, it's difficult to evaluate the complete problem over the Internet. A lot of times only part of the problem is being told.

The wonder of the web is that it lets people communicate and pass on their knowledge to others in a way that was never possible before. It is possible to get the whole spectrum of opinion, from the stupid time waster to the professor, in one place. Then you choose either from a single opinion or, more usually from a general consensus. If you are from UK, its a bit like all of us being able to ask the audience, phone a friend or even perhaps go 50:50 as on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Well I have worked as a nurse for 33 years so I base my answers on what I know or else I open a second browser window up and look up the information the person needs to know.

Most of my answers to stuff comes from what I have gone through and the internet. When I look stuff up online I make sure the source is the best and most known I can find.

The best advise I give is from my own experiences because then I'll know for sure if what I'm saying or recommending works or it doesn't. You have to try it or have been through it to fully understand the question.

Why is this question in 'Men's health'?
I only answer the questions I feel able to answer, sometimes the question inspires me to discover the answer for myself, then I give my findings.

Life experiences. The knowledge you gather along the way through your life "if" you pay attention along the way.
