This is a little too Orwellian for me. They say it is patriotic to commit treason against the president and our troops in harms way, yet they feel that it is treasonous to support the president and our troops.

Do I need a de-coder ring or brainwashed or somthing to figure out this logic?

It's because they think of themselves as citizens of the world instead of Americans. I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that they hate George Bush because he beat Gore in 2000 and trounced Kerry in 2004. They would side with Satan to go against George Bush.

That's funny! I'll bet you haven't even read anything by Orwell. But anyway, the President, who thinks the Constitution he swore to defend is a mere "scrap of paper" (his words), is the treasonous one. And as for the troops... What is more treasonous: To oppose a war the troops happen to be fighting, or to send the troops into harm's way in the first place under false pretexts?

You don't need a decoder ring, you need a high school education and some evidence of critical faculties. If you don't know what that means, check a dictionary.

Edit: You didn't prove you read Orwell. You proved you knew some of the titles and names of major characters, sort of. You *asserted* that you've read Orwell. There's a difference.

It is patriotic to question the government and it's intentions, after all they are representatives of the people and responsible for securing that future of the nation by addressing issues in the present.

If A government is unwilling or unable to provide answers to the public it represent that it isn't unreasonable that out of frustration and distrust that one would become very weary and perhaps begin to dislike the government.

As for the troops, you can support the troops and dislike the mission. The treatment of the troops currently is less than favorable, they have inadequate equipment, the war has had a variable objective, as well as in the unfortunate instance that one of these fine men or women is injured in battle the VA may not be able to provide adequate care in their home town. There are many people both liberal and conservative advocating to rectify this lack of support at home for the fine men and women that risk their lives abroad for us.

It is an unfair statement to say that Liberals do not support the troops. It is not secret the war in Iraq has a low approval rating in both a conservative an liberal forum. However I think we can all agree that we want to see out troops cared for and returned to their families safe

Nobody said it is patriotic to hate the president. Neither is it patriotic to simply take every word that comes out of his mouth as gospel truth. All I can say in summing up is this: QUESTION AUTHORITY! Too often authority figures are motivated by hidden agendas, which do not become clear or common knowledge among most of the populous until years or decades later. We are not obligated to buy into anything that comes out of the mouths of our so-called leaders just because they occupy the positions they do. To do so would be a denial of our obligations as citizens. Nor are we required to support actions and policies which we consider immoral and illegal. If you can't understand that, then no amount of explanation will make it clearer.

What do you advise by technique of help? that you want the troops to achieve success of their project, yet you probably did not vote for Bush? it truly is could properly be patriotic. that you're saying you help them, yet you actually desire them to fail and also you're hoping issues receives worse in Iraq and bigger troops will die so as that Bush will look undesirable and Democrats could have a more suitable positive threat in destiny elections? No, no longer patriotic.

Who said it was treason to support the president? Short of a few crazies, I've never heard this notion supported by liberals (as a group). Either you made this up or someone lied to you.

It's also not treason to express verbal dissent. Whoever told you that it was wrong... very wrong...

Please tell me where it says in the Constitution that I cannot form a dissenting opinion of President Bush or any of his policies. The fact is you can't. And where are you're sources for the people who are supposedly saying that its treasonous to be patriotic. People like you crack me up.

I don't hate him, I fear his lack of intellect and the mistakes he makes based on making ego driven decisions. I would like him just fine if I could see he really cared about this Nation. The only thing I have seen from him are mistakes and unintelligent remarks, and unethical and illegal behaviors to get what he wants.
He cares about the wealthy people and that is good but he must also care about this Nation.
