I graduated from high school in 2004 and attempted to go to school, but I ended up dropping out several times due to my anxiety problems. I have spent the last few years taking care of my disabled parents so I really haven't had the time to work. I really would like to go back now, but I can't because I am no longer eligable for finacial aid. So I am trying to figure out a job that I could get with just a high school diploma. I am a young newlywed and my husband is struggling to support the both of us on his salary. I would love a job where I work with computers (typing, making websites, ect). I don't really want to be on my feet all day because I have back problems. Only serious answers please. I am also interested to know if anybody knows of a quiz to help you figure out what job would be best for you.

I am also interested in jobs that are creative. I really love to edit videos and such, but I have no idea how to apply that to a job. I love to write. I've also thought about getting a job doing nails or in a bakery. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't let education (or perceived lack of) deter you from achieving your dreams. But first, find out what your interests are and what sort of jobs or career is most suitable to you. Then decide if further education or working experience is necessary to help you in your career. To help you land a job faster, try using headhunting or job agencies. Sorry to hear about your parents and your back problem PDF. I think you have several things that need attention.

First is your job search. The first 2 previous answers are really good, JUST DO IT and remember that accepting a job you may not think is glamorous, may turn out to the the best. Plus, you need the income.

Second, be careful not to fall into the credit trap while you are looking. If you are on small income, then you need to budget your income and expenses every month to avoid any credit. Please go to the library and get The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. It changed how I look at money, and is a good plan for life.

Good Luck

I suggest that you address your back problems first. A sit down job is no better than an on your feet job in this reguard. A good physical may uncover the cause or causes such as 1 leg longer than the other or hip joint malformations. Simple remedies do exist for semi-common physical maladies. I suffer from a herniated disc in my lower back. It has ruled my life to the point of total control and limitation. Don't let this happen to you. Embark on a journey of physical recovery with an eye to help others in the same predicament.

I would suggest you go back to school for a technical degree. Look for alternative ways to get money. You may qualify for some type of non traditional student loans or scholarships. A lot of community college have good graphics and computer degrees that you can finish in one or two years. If you really feel like you can't afford to go back to school. Try for jobs like receptionist at a company that does what you would like to do and just work your way up and let them know during the interview what your aspirations are. You may have to volunteer your skills in the beginning to show them what you are capable of.

You might want to consider enrolling at a certificate program at a business school like Heald College. It isn't cheap, though I think you can get financial aid. And they have job placement assistance.

You don't pick the job first, you apply for the jobs first, and decide later. Any office, or receptionist position will be more or less exactly what you want. What the company does is not really important. Just go out and apply, and choose later.
