first, give your dad's name, add. and contact number.
dear your-teacher's-name,
i, the father of your-name, would like to apologize for my son's absence on 2nd march.
my son had a fever and was home all day. he did not see a doctor, as he still had the medicine given from the last time he was ill.
if theres any problem or inconvenience caused, you may call the contact number stated above.
i hope you will understand. thank you for your time.
yours truly,

you can keep the letter short. but somehow, i think, it'll appear to be a just small note rather than a letter of excuse.

I totally agree with dtowngirl and mommaphotographer. It seems we should walk on egg shells just to speak these days. And so what if the teacher didn't teach about gay couples having children! Is that part of the curriculum? Is it legally required? Did her superintendent tell her to explain different family structures? It was her job to teach the ins and out of reproduction, not lifestyle choices. If the teacher was not required to speak on this particular subject matter, then she should not be bullied by her own students and their parents to do so.

Dear ,
Please excuse my child, , for their absence from school yesterday. They had a fever and was home sick all day.
Thank you,
although to be completely honest, your dad should have called yesterday to notify the school you would be out sick. Keep that in mind for future absences

you cant for the school to acknowledge it as an excused absence it must be from a doctors office and signed by you doctor anything elese is unaccepted and is counted as an absence so just talk to your doc and have him write one
