I feel the tide has changed Porgie. South Africans in general have become more patriotic (all races). But there is that small percentage that seems to think 'its all going downhill, let's run!' They easily show their unpatriotism. I've now seen South Africans proudly painting their faces with the national flag at sporting matches all over the world and at home. They are not ashamed to be known as South African. In the past, they would've given anything just to be a street kid in New York. I'm glad we have come this far.

Proudly South African!!

You only have to visit London, Auckland, Perth, Sydney or anywhere else in the world where there are large pockets of expat. South Africans to witness how patriotic they are.

However it´s important that we don´t interpret reporting the truth about S.A. as being unpatriotic.

You should see for example how the English, Spanish, Italians, French etc. bash each other about over politics, but when they play a test match don´t even think about insulting their team or country.

i used 2 be.however the more i travel around the world the less i miss the crap hole called home.i miss the violence, rapes, muggings, blacks, corrupt police and government, etc etc.25000 hijackings a year blah blah blah.even the rugby has gone to pot, political games.i believe the world cup may also be given to our neighbors aussie due to many reasons. our minister of health thinks aids can be cured by eating certain vegetables ,idiot.our vice president accused of rape says in court he had a shower afterwards to wash away the possibility of contracting aids.maybe he should eat veg!blacks believe that raping 2 year old girls will cure aids.ive had attempted hi jacks x2 where ive had to pull out a gun in defense.oh yes we r so patriotic it verges on the paranoia of never wanting to find somewhere better.love hate relationship.patriotism is earned from the people by the ones who run it.the old system was wicked but at least we had patriotic thoughts.

Hi,, the people that i have worked with from there seem very patriotic to me.. They come from a good stock of people and are some tough fighters that i know of....

Also, i wish that young lady that is living in the States would allow me to show her our better side, She must be in the wrong part of the US.....

Well , i am. I live in U.S at the moment and i hate it . The people here are rude and arrogant . At least in South Africa if you smile at a stranger they are likely to smile back at you. I think that the generall oppinion is that although we have problems , eventually i think they will work out. Maybe i am disillusioned.
However i am still "PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN".
