it is doing a deep scan. its taking awhile, is that normal? than will the removal be free?

What do you have and did you purchase it? If you did, then after the scan it will delete or quarintine it. Full scan takes long time.

Most likely if you downloaded a link from a website for a free scan, you will have to pay to remove what it finds.

If you are running a scanning software you bought, then it'll fix the
majority of the problems it finds.
If you are running a scanning download, it will complete the scan,
tell you what's wrong, and offer to sell you the software that will
fix the problems. It'll tell you--but not fix them.

AVAST and AVG are FREE... u can donate $$ if u want, but they are FREE,

spywareguard, AdAware, spybot, are also FREE...they will not/should not ask for money... they all have an icon so that u can donate $$... this is to help the developers (and the community) to continue there valent effort...

u can also scan online at TrendMicro.com (housecall)... also FREE
