The constitution doesn't give that authority to the people , & thank God for that , as the reactionary , poorly informed, & easily influenced masses would have impeached every President who has held office the last 50 years based upon some perceived slight or conflicting view.
Late edit to Brite Tiger-- Don't believe all the blogs you read my friend . They represent opinion....NOT fact. So the majority of Americans favor impeachment do they?? When will you start working on a solution? STOP looking to place blame for things you don't understand....PLEASE??

No, he would not be impeached because he has enough Americans that see the world the same way he does- with fear, anger and greed.
Could he be impeached? Legally, I believe he certainly could, as there are a great many things that occurred under his command that defy the basic American freedoms and standards that made this nation great in the first place- which include:
1) Authorization of "Preemptive Strikes" - which allow the US to attack a nation on the basis that that nation could "possibly intend harm" - which opens the doors to a host of conflicts around the globe.
2) The removal and/or intrusion on basic rights to privacy - which makes us no different than the former Soviet Union
3) The treatment of detainees at military prisons
4) The incompetent handling of the New Orleans disaster
to name a few...

Why would we want to impeach Pres. Bush without getting V.P. Cheney with him. AAAgh!
I am not sure if he is impeachable. But I will say this he has ABUSED the power of his office like no other president I know of and that includes Nixon.
He has no feeling for our country only to the extent that it goes with his ideology.
They are both a classic example of what they were not voted for.
Is this what the Republican voters voted for, I think not.
One of the lowest approval ratings of all the presidents...and I won't believe that it is coming from just Democrats.
It is ironic...once voters have put him in office he listens to them the least.
Is the unilateral actions that he has taken all through his 2 terms in office what the voters voted for? Did he campaign about this?
It is true that President Clinton was impeached but he stuck it out. He is one of the most admired men in and around the world. He has been in demand to make speech's all over the world. I anticipate when Bush comes out of office to see if he is so desired. Forgetaboutit.
Pres. Clinton took us out of a deficit and gave us a surplus and Bush put us right back into debt and gave the rich a tax break and now the middle class can pay for his EGO.
Can you imagine a Democrat controlling spending which is normally a Republican platform.
Now how conservative is it when Bush can take a surplus from a Democratic president and go through it and put the nation heavily in debt for Trillions?

Bush will not be impeached. There's nothing he's done that he can be inpeached for. There are a number of accusations posted which cannot be proven and many more actions he's taken that have been with the approval of Congress while unpopular are not impeachable.
The Democrats, although some of them might like to impeach him for something he's done, know it would be a lose lose situation for them. After all they did not stand up and say this is wrong BEFORE Bush did something.
Believe me IF Democrats thought they could gain something by impeaching Bush they would attempt it.

Bush’s Attorney General admitted that Bush believes that he has the authority to personally authorize the secret wiretapping, without any court order, of any and all conversations and emails between Americans that occur exclusively within the borders of the United States. Earlier it was revealed that Bush set up a massive secret wiretapping operation monitoring a huge number of Americans, but he had asserted that it was only to listen in on conversations of people in the United States who were making international calls and emails.
The fact that Bush has not already had articles of impeachment filed in the House of Representatives is clear evidence that the people must act forcefully as the true guardians of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. That is exactly what the ImpeachBush.org movement is doing. When impeachment looked remote, there were still tens of thousands of individuals who tirelessly worked to collect petitions, hold rallies, wrote and called members of Congress and donated so that we could place newspaper ads all across the country.
Today, impeachment is not remote at all. It reflects the majority sentiment. Recent polls show that by 52% to 43% majority the American people favor impeachment if it is proved that Bush lied about the reasons for going to war. A nearly similar majority support impeachment if the President broke Federal wiretapping laws by authorizing the secret wiretapping of Americans without a court order when there is no evidence or inquiry of criminal wrongdoing.
Yesterday’s revelations confirm again that this is a lawless administration. Impeachment is imperative. This is a challenge for every person in this country who has a commitment to the Constitution. The people must continue to act rather than wait for the politicians to lead.
Now that more than 700,000 people have voted for impeachment at http://www.impeachbush.org/ it is urgent that we do everything in our power to make the issue of Bush’s criminal conduct a major issue between now and the November Congressional elections. The newspaper ads are an excellent way to keep the issue of impeachment front and center. We have succeeded in placing more and more ads because of the donations of the people who are committed to this course.
We want to increase the visibility in the weeks ahead with even more newspaper ads. Please continue to show your support by making a generous donation on-line or by learning how you can send a check. This is a grassroots people’s movement. It is historic and it can succeed with your help. Click here to make your contribution.

Reasons for impeachment of President Bush:
a) Consider that foreign cargo ships coming into the US are not thoroughly checked for WMD's or Nukes. Only a tiny percentage are.
b) He was going to give a foreign company (a muslim country) oversight of unloading these cargo ships!
c) He has left the border wide open. Muslims have been crossing it. Consider that there are schools in Mexico teaching Muslims spanish so these Muslims can better "blend in".
d) He has allowed 40 million people from foreign lands (Mexico, Brazil, central America) to invade the United States. Make no mistake about it -- THIS IS AN INVASION. An invasion without a single shot being fired. President Bush doesn't care about the indentity theft, crimes, rapes, drunk driving, street gangs and drug trafficing soon to appear in your neighborhood. Apparently, cheap labor is more important than your safety. Bush has forsaken his duty to protect American citizens.
e) He has allowed US military forces to be hamstrung in their ability to return fire when fired upon. The battle for Iraq and now Afghanistan has terribly managed. We're basicly babysitting a civil war in Iraq right now.
f) His invasive Patriot Act, if it had been employed by let's say Hillary Clinton, Republicans would have been howling.
g) President Bush just lives in his ivory tower nowadays and doesn't care about the average American anymore. Just big business -- evidenced by his refusal to close the border and deport illegal aliens. (It can be done in phases, doesn't have to be done all at once!)
h) During President Bush's term, 7,000 Iraqis will permanently be settled here in the US. Thousands of Muslims have been pouring into the US and given citizenship. We're fighting a War against radical Islam, yet we're importing thousands of Muslims ... does that make sense? No.
i) President Bush is allowing US companies to cut wages, eliminate benefits, and outsource overseas. He's even been pushing for the Indians (from India) to come in and take the tech jobs. Does that make sense? What about taking care of Americans?
(By the way, I voted twice for President Bush and donated money to his campaign. He has abandoned conservatives and the American people for that matter.)

He lied to the country. Is Clinton can be impeached for doing an intern then surely Bush can be impeached for lying about the reasons for war. As for whether or not Americans will have him impeached - I doubt it. They simply don't have the guts!

1st of all, congress does the impeaching.
2ndly, there wont be an impeachment. Dems are better off having Bush in office with failure after failure ensuring a dem victory in 08
However, FISA law violations would be more than enough to impeach him.

*Would* they, no. Suspending Habeas corpus, secret trials, illegal wire-tapping, starting an ill-advised and endless war based on fabricated evidence and then blaming everyone else when it turns out to be a fiasco on every level, being an apologist for torture... none of that captures the public's attention the way extramarital bj's do. Now, *should* they impeach him... that's an altogether different question.

Because by his own admission he violated the constitution by ordering wiretaps without warrants.
"Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires - a wiretap requires a court order."
- George W. Bush, April 20, 2004, Buffalo, New York.
