(assuming that there natures are such that they dont mix and that there is no chemical reaction between the two substances)?

Water has density 1 g/mL. So the density of the poured liquid is more. So it will go down and water be come up. This is very similar to when you add some kerosene in water. There density of kerosene is less compared to water and it will float.

If it's soluble it will disperse into the water. If not, being more dense, it will go to the bottom

it goes down because its density is more than water..
